Camera-based tracking for warehouses
Warehouse loss usually comes from unrecorded movement rather than theft. Zero-Shot builds systems that count pallets from camera feeds, read labels, verify outbound loads at the dock and track occupancy — measured under your own warehouse conditions.
What we build
- 01Pallet and carton counting with zone-level occupancy tracking
- 02Label and barcode reading at distance and in motion
- 03Load verification at the dock, comparing what leaves against the manifest
- 04Empty slot and misplacement detection
- 05An assessment of existing security cameras, with new stations only where required
How it runs
01
Camera inventory
Angle, resolution and lighting of existing cameras are assessed to separate what can run on current hardware from what needs a new station.
02
Pilot on one dock
The highest value is usually at the loading dock, so load verification on one dock comes first.
03
Compare against records
What the system counts is compared against the WMS record. A gap can be the system's error or the record's — the two are separated deliberately.
04
Expand zone by zone
As accuracy holds, it spreads to other docks and storage zones.
What we measure
- Counting accuracy across system, WMS record and physical count
- Share of wrong shipments caught at the dock
- Label reading accuracy at real distance and speed
- Time spent on stock counts
- Change in lost and misplaced pallets
When this is the wrong fit
If pallets are stacked so that cameras cannot see them, camera counting stays incomplete and RFID or barcode discipline is the better answer. We do not build these systems for staff monitoring.
Common questions
Can it be used to monitor staff?
We do not build that. The system works on pallets, cartons and shipments; personnel tracking and performance measurement are out of scope. Frames containing people are either not processed or anonymised.
How does it talk to our WMS?
It compares its count against the WMS record and produces a discrepancy report. At first that is all — write access to the WMS is opened only after accuracy is measured and accepted, and only for agreed fields.
What if warehouse lighting is poor?
Some tasks still work (counting large objects), others do not (label reading). The camera inventory in week one separates these, and where needed we recommend lighting at specific points rather than relighting the building.
